‘Major asset’ Miles is Called to the Bar
A new lawyer has been Called to the Bar.
Nick Miles, of Sedgwick Chudleigh Ltd, was yesterday admitted and enrolled as a Barrister and Attorney of the Supreme Court of Bermuda at a hearing before the Honourable Chief Justice Ian Kawaley. Starting out in his legal career as a solicitor in England in 2000, Mr Miles has worked for the past five years as a registered associate of Sedgwick Chudleigh.
He has a mixed commercial practice specialising in insurance and reinsurance, dispute resolution and restructuring and insolvency.
He has also written widely in industry publications, co-authoring a 2010 book on insurance business transfer schemes under English law.
Mr Miles is a frequent speaker at industry events, including events organised by the Bermuda Insurance Institute, the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals, and the Falconbury Reinsurance Conferences series, in Bermuda and in Britain.
“I have had the privilege of working closely with Nick for seven years, initially in London and then in Bermuda,” said Mark Chudleigh, Sedgwick Chudleigh’s managing partner.
