A fire broke out at a house on North Shore Road in the Coney Island area at 3.40pm this afternoon.

No one was injured in the blaze which has now been extinguished.

The Bermuda Fire Service confirmed that there was extensive fire and smoke damage throughout the second storey of the building.

Part of North Shore Road near Callen Glen Rise has been closed due to the incident but is due to open shortly.

Ten fire personnel in three vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
