Call for speed bump near nursery school
Drivers skirting Hamilton on Rosemont Avenue are using the road as a “speedway” according to a complaint online, although a nursery school in the area reported only occasional traffic issues.
The thoroughfare, which also has four guest houses nearby, is in need of a speed bump to slow down drivers, a commenter said on the One Bermuda Alliance’s Facebook page.
Staff at the Bermuda Montessori School, which is set back from the road, said rush hour traffic sometimes posed an issue. “It’s usually pretty quiet out, but there are certain times when traffic comes flying by,” one told The Royal Gazette.
Angelo Armano, of Ascot’s Restaurant, said passing traffic did not affect his business, adding: “Maybe it’s a residential issue — most of the time we don’t get too many cars coming past.
“The only time there’s a lot is when we get a traffic diversion coming up the road.”
Suggestions online included speed bumps near to both the Rosemont and Royal Palms hotels.
