A Devonshire man was in critical condition this morning after a single vehicle collision on Pitts Bay Road.

According to a police spokesman, at around 2.45am today emergency services responded to a report of a crash near the junction of Roxdene Lane.

A spokesman said: “It appears that a 45-year-old Devonshire man was travelling north along Pitts Bay Road when it appears that he lost control of his motorcycle causing him to collide with a utility pole.

“The victim is believed to have suffered serious head injuries as a result of this collision. At last check he had been admitted in to the Intensive Care Unit where his condition was listed as critical.”

Witnesses to the collision are urged to contact police on 295-0011.
