A collision between a car and a motorcycle in the early hours of this morning resulted in two young women being taken to hospital.

Police responded to the road traffic collision, which took place on Malabar Road, near the entrance to Lefroy House, in Sandys at about 3.25am.

“Details are sketchy at this point but it appears that a motorcycle with a pillion passenger collided with a car on Malabar Road,” a Police spokesman said.

“The rider of the motorcycle and the pillion passenger were taken to the hospital, with the 18-year-old female rider being treated for a shoulder injury and the 19-year-old female pillion passenger also treated for minor cuts and abrasions.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 295-0011.
