Urgent repairs at the Somerset Police Station have resulted in the facility’s closure, police announced today.

Western officers will work from the Dockyard office at 2 Sally Port Lane, North Basin, next door to the store Makin Waves.

There will be a phone box placed on the wall outside the Somerset Police Station, connecting to the station duty officer at the Dockyard office. The phone number will remain 234-1010.

Added a police spokesman: “Western residents will continue to see highly visible patrols officers in the Somerset area as well as the officer of the Western Community Action Team, who will be out and about in the neighbourhoods.”
