The Island’s road collision statistics have fallen over last year’s numbers, police have reported.

For the period of January through August, the Island registered 866 road incidents overall, versus 971 in 2014.

Collisions are also trending down in all categories.

There were 404 damage-only collisions, against 493 for 2014; 378 with slight injury versus 387; 78 with serious injury, compared with 82 in 2014, and six fatal collisions, against nine in the same eight month period of 2014.
