Practical boating seminar announced by WSC
The Bermuda Water Safety Council will next weekend be hosting a seminar focusing on the use of VHF marine radio and distress flares.
“With nearly 4,000 boats on the water, there are many owners who have little or no experience,” said Bermuda Water Safety Council chairman Ralph Richardson. “Seminars like this offer an opportunity for boaters to learn how to safely operate their vessels.”
It is the group’s third annual practical boating seminar, which provide boaters with an opportunity to learn practical aspects of handling and navigating boats around Bermuda in a safe and responsible manner.
The seminar will be held on board one of the catamaran ferries that will depart from the Hamilton Ferry Terminal at 5.30pm on November 1.
Parents can bring children who are older than 12 but the number of participants is limited to 60.
There will be a fee of $10 in cash and entry is first come, first served.
