The Royal Bermuda Regiment was yesterday granted the Freedom of the City to march through the streets of Hamilton.
The formal ceremony, attended by Governor George Fergusson, was held at City Hall after the Convening of Parliament and the Throne Speech.
A hand-painted scroll detailing the proclamation was unveiled during the ceremony, part of the Regiment’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The Regiment, headed by the Band and Corps of Drums, marched to City Hall via Front Street, Queen Street and Church Street as part of a Freedom Parade, watched by the public and former service members.
