Planning application for new restaurant

Vacant spot: Astwood Dickinson moved its flagship store this year

A former jewellery store could become a new restaurant, according to a recent planning application.

The application, advertised in The Royal Gazette last week, proposes changing the former home of Astwood Dickinson into a new 127-seat restaurant.

Astwood Dickinson moved its flagship store to 25 Front Street this year while opening a second venue in the Walker Arcade.

The proposed restaurant, according to planning applications, would offer indoor and outdoor dining and include several indoor dining areas.

Restaurateur George Heracleous of Port O Call, one of the people behind the enterprise, said work on the project was still in the early stages.
