Pair of crashes cause minor injuries

Police responded to a pair of crashes within half an hour on Monday morning, both resulting in minor injuries.

According to a police spokesman, at around 7.45am officers attended the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the junction of South Road and Lovers Lane in Paget.

“It appears that two cars being driven in opposite directions along South Road collided at the junction, as one of the vehicles attempted to turn on to Lovers Lane,” the spokesman said.

“A female passenger in one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The 58-year-old Hamilton Parish woman was later discharged.

“Both vehicles were damaged and morning commuters experienced traffic delays.”

At around 8.15am, officers were dispatched to a second collision, which occurred at the junction of Serpentine Road and Rosemont Avenue in Pembroke.

“It appears that two cars being driven in opposite directions along Serpentine Road collided at the junction,” the spokesman said.

“A young female passenger in one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The 11-year-old Warwick girl was later discharged. There were no other injuries reported.”

Police are still investigating both collisions, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Hamilton Police Station at 247-1704.
