PAC to meet on airport deal
The Bermuda Government’s plan to redevelop LF Wade International Airport is to go before the Public Accounts Committee on Thursday.
The PAC’s last public meeting heard from the Accountant-General Curtis Stovell, as well as the Graham Simmons, interim director of the Office of Project Management and Procurement.
During that testimony, the Accountant General indicated that his permission for a waiver on relevant Financial Instructions was not requested or given in regard to the Airport Development Agreement being executed earlier this year.
The PAC unanimously resolved to call in the Financial Secretary as a follow up to this matter.
The committee also unanimously resolved to question the Financial Secretary on the issue of sanctions for continued violations of Financial Instructions.
The PAC will meet at 2.30pm in the Senate Chamber.
