Chef Wilson to star at Princess
Celebrity chef Melba Wilson will team up with Marcus Samuelsson for an event at The Hamilton Princess.
The programme on Friday, January 22, will feature a four-course dinner menu inspired by Harlem cuisine and music from Harlem-based band The Nate Lucas All-Stars.
Mr Samuelsson said in a statement: “After opening Marcus’ last year, I continue to fall in love with Bermuda.
“Since Harlem is my home, I wanted to bring a taste of Harlem to Marcus’ in Bermuda. The Nate Lucas All-Stars play at Red Rooster in Harlem and what better way to bring Harlem to Bermuda than with great food and music. Chef Melba is a force in the Harlem cooking world and I am thrilled to host this dinner with her.”
Ms Wilson, owner of Melba’s Restaurant in Harlem, will also host brunch at Marcus’ on Sunday, January 24.
She stated: “Marcus tells me stories about the people he’s met in Bermuda and their passion for food and enjoying a good meal with friends and family.
“What I love most about cooking is the opportunity to make people happy and bring people together.
“I was born and raised in Harlem but have family roots in South Carolina, so my cooking style is Southern comfort. It’s a cuisine that brings people together and makes people happy, and I am so excited to host a dinner with my friend Marcus in Bermuda.”
