Road resurfacing in Paget to start on Monday
Road resurfacing works on South Road in Paget are set to begin on Monday.
The work is expected to take one week and will focus on sections between Modern Mart supermarket and Elbow Beach.
“The programme will quickly target the worst sections of uneven carriageway and restore and prolong the life of the existing surface until more extensive overlay strengthening works can be undertaken,” a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Works said.
“Traffic will be managed by temporary traffic signals whilst the work is in progress and some traffic delays can be expected.
“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused during this essential work.”
Announcements will be made regarding the timing of the next stage of the programme, which is expected to include sections of Pitts Bay Road, Serpentine Road in Pembroke and South Road in Southampton.
The spokeswoman added that this initiative is an addition to the ministry’s existing resurfacing programme and that engineers will keep inspecting the public road network to identify other sections of road in need of repair.
