Gill Lewis: visitor seriously bitten by loose dog on Railway Trail
Dog wardens have called on a Southampton neighbourhood after a woman was mauled by a loose dog on the Railway Trail.
All dogs in the vicinity of the attack near Riviera Road were “legal and secured” when officials visited.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Department of Environmental Protection.
Gill Lewis, a frequent visitor to the Island, sustained a severe bite while strolling on January 14, reporting that other walkers said they knew the animal in question.
According to a spokesman for the department, wardens checked on possible suspect dogs.
They have asked anyone with information to contact Animal Control at 239-2327.
