More than a week since Cheesy the cockatoo went missing, the bird remains free and special-needs charity WindReach continues to appeal for help to find the pet.

She is described a friendly bird who “loves having her head scratched”.

“We are very sad to say that she has yet to be found. Please let us know of any sightings,” said a WindReach spokesperson.

• Meanwhile, a family in Southampton have asked the public to look out for a green parrot that flew out of the house on Wednesday morning.

The bird answers to the name of Benny and went missing in the Southampton area. Anyone that has seen the parrot is asked to call 500-2721 or e-mail tamg@northrock.bm
