Father’s Day breakfast switches to St David’s
St George’s Parish Council will be hosting its Pre-Father’s Day Breakfast at St David’s Primary School on Friday, June 17.
All fathers and father figures of the students at the school have been invited to attend the event at 8am, to “partake in some wholesome fellowship bringing father and child together in an atmosphere which allows them to appreciate each other and highlight the roles of their fathers”, according to a press release.
The council has previously hosted the event at East End Primary School but is switching venues this year to involve more of the community.
It said in a statement: “The event has been well received by the school and we look forward to serving the students, their fathers and father figures a hearty breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, juice, water, fruit, coffee and tea.”
The council thanked sponsors Dunkley’s Dairy, Butterfield & Vallis and John Barritt & Son Ltd.
“We cannot emphasise enough the importance these sponsors play in ensuring that this event is a success,” it said.
“They are to be commended for their willingness to work with the St George’s Parish Council which allows them to put on this event and bring about a spirit of community to which all benefit.”
