Car passenger in ICU
A car passenger is being treated in Intensive Care Unit after she was thrown from the vehicle when the driver lost control.
The 29-year-old woman as well as a second passenger, a 33 year-old man, were “ejected” from the car as a result of the crash that occurred at 3.14am on Tuesday.
The driver, a 33 year-old man, was arrested at the scene on Middle Road in Southampton, on suspicion of impaired driving but later released after passing the test.
“The driver was travelling in an easterly direction in a car with two passengers when it appears that he lost control of his vehicle resulting in the car spinning off of the road way and ejecting the two passengers out of the vehicle,” a police spokesman said.
“The two passengers were taken to the hospital and the 29 year-old female is listed in critical condition in the ICU and the 33 year-old male was treated at the hospital and released.”
An investigation into the accident is under way. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen this collision to contact police on 295-0011.
