St George’s win the Argus Cup Match challenge
St George’s have been declared winners of a Cup Match challenge which has raised money for Bermuda Mental Health Foundation and Bermuda Heart Foundation.
The Argus Group Pre-Game Face Off, which has been running throughout the last month, saw people take part in a fun set of games and drills to promote Cup Match team spirit and determine which team has the most active supporters.
The official count was 13,521 points for Somerset and 13,925 for St. George’s.
The Face Off offered wellness challenges in which the public was asked to participate in games, including Wheel of Fortune, Plinko and Bean Bag toss. The winner of each challenge earned spirit points towards his or her favourite Cup Match team and Argus closely tracked the score on their Facebook page.
In addition, virtual challenges were posted on Facebook that offered the community an added opportunity to add spirit points to his or her favourite team.
For every participant, Argus is donating $10 to the two charities.
The competition is part of Thrive, the company’s initiative to create a healthier Bermuda.
Lauren Bell, executive vice-president, Life & Pensions at Argus, said: “It was amazing to see so much friendly rivalry around the island ...
“On Facebook, we saw creative posts and photos of people’s blue and blue and red and blue swag, including haircuts, make-up, jewellery and clothing. Out in the community, whether it was jumping rope, answering trivia questions or tossing the bean bag, we saw people of all ages getting active and spreading their team spirit.
“In the end, I have to congratulate both teams for bringing so much enthusiasm to our challenge. Thank you to everyone who participated and may the best team win this weekend.”
