Society gamble on casino fundraiser
The Continental Society’s next fundraising event later this month should be a sure bet.
Casino Royale — a night of gambling, games and entertainment at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute — is aiming to raise funds for the charity’s education and community initiatives.
The event will feature blackjack, roulette and crown and anchor, and music provided by DJ Blacka Knights.
Nekeisha Tyrell, president, Continental Society of Bermuda, said: “Our educational and community initiatives are dear to our hearts and we look forward to provide students across the island with any help we can during the school year including books, breakfasts, scholarships and even summer camp fees.
“Casino Royale is our premier fundraiser for the year and will provide an opportunity for those who support our charity to donate to a worthy cause. I encourage anyone who is looking for a fun night and to help support a great charity that focuses on children to buy a ticket and come out.”
The event will be held on Saturday, October 15 from 8pm to midnight. Tickets are $125 and are available from members and include paying chips, one drink, a raffle ticket and canapés.
The Bermuda Society is an affiliate chapter of the Continental Societies Incorporated, an international public service organisation committed to improving the welfare of children in communities across the USA and Bermuda.
Founded in 1962 as charity number six, it is supported by 100 per cent volunteer membership of some 30 Bermudian women.
