Bridge Club donates $3,000 to Salvation Army
Bermuda Bridge Club have donated $3,000 to the Salvation Army to continue “their good work”
Thanking the club, a charity spokesperson said: “While The Salvation Army, like many non-profit organisations, has suffered from rapidly shrinking resources due to a depressed economy, our mission has remained unchanged.
“(We) exist to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.”
The presentation was made by John Burville, representing the Bermuda Bridge Club, to Beverly Daniels, executive director for Community Services, at the Salvation Army offices on King Street.
“Mrs Daniels readily acknowledges that the Community Services team is always appreciative of unexpected donations from caring community partners such as the Bermuda Bridge Club,” added the spokesperson.
“With Christmas approaching we know that this donation will be put to immediate use as we plan our Christmas hamper and toy distribution for December, 2016.”
