The Ministry of Public Works will restore the $25 fee per load for people wanting to dump their compost at the Marsh Folly Composting Facility.

The tipping fee was waived last month in the aftermath of Hurricane Nicole so that people could dispose of horticultural waste caused by the storm.

But that fee will resume next Monday,

However, Marsh Folly compost, or “Black Gold” as it is known locally, is given free of charge to householders and businesses, said a press release.

“Black Gold is tested on a quarterly basis to ensure it meets the standards set by the Environmental Authority, a non-governmental body responsible for setting and monitoring environmental standards at all the Waste Management’s facilities.

“Black Gold meets or exceeds the AAA standard set by the USDA for compost products”.
