A motorcyclist is thought to have been seriously injured last night when he apparently crashed into a roadside wooden fence in Smith’s.

The 28-year-old Hamilton Parish man was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after the accident on North Shore Road, near the junction with Jennings Road.

“The full extent of his injuries is currently unknown, but initial information suggests that they may be serious,” said a Police spokesman.

Traffic was temporarily diverted from the area after police were called to the scene at about 10pm.

“Those traffic diversions are no longer in effect and normal traffic flow has resumed in the area,” the spokesman added.
