A male motorcycle rider has sustained a serious leg injury after a three-vehicle crash that also involved two cars this evening at the junction of Middle Road and Montpelier Road.

The crash, at about 6.45pm, resulted in traffic diversions while the scene was processed.

At 9.40pm, police announced that the affected junction had reopened to normal traffic flow, and a spokesman added that an enquiry was under way.
