A 68-year-old Pembroke woman was hit by a motorbike as she attempted to cross the road last night.

The woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital but has since been discharged following the incident on North Shore Road, near its junction with Bandroom Lane, at about 11pm.

Police say she was struck by the bike as she walked out from the nearby bus lay-by.

The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old Southampton man, was also taken to hospital and this morning was awaiting admission to a general ward.
