Local entrepreneurs invited to CARIFESTA
Bermudian entrepreneurs are being invited to take part in CARIFESTA XIII Grand Market and Buyer’s Shopping Mall in Barbados.
The event, to be held between August 19 and August 26, is described as the world’s largest gathering of Caribbean arts and culture, and an opportunity for cultural entrepreneurs to showcase their goods.
Heather Whalen, director of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, said: “One way persons can market their products during the regional arts festival, is by taking part in the Grand Market, which is only one of many, many aspects of Carifesta.
“Individuals will be able to sell a variety of items, from locally-authored books, to rum cakes and spicy jams, to banana leaf dolls and paintings. The possibilities are endless.
“Think of it like a giant Harbour Nights, with vendors and buyers from all across the Caribbean.”
