Princess opens art exhibition
Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is celebrating the international spirit of sailing with an art exhibition.
The three-month exhibition in the hotel lobby features pieces by Ewan David Eason, whose recent work has been displayed in some of the UK’s most prestigious galleries, including the Royal Academy, Christie’s and the Barbican.
The commissioned art will showcase seven homes of sailing teams around the globe in the form of maps, brushed in gold: Auckland, New Zealand; Lorient, France; Osaka, Japan; Portsmouth, England; San Francisco, United States; Stockholm, Sweden; and Bermuda.
The exhibition is being hosted in collaboration with TAG Fine Arts, a London-based art dealer and publisher, from April 7 to July 30.
Hamilton Princess general manager Allan Federer said: “We are delighted to show seven new works by Ewan David Eason. It’s an exciting year for Bermuda and this artwork really celebrates the global flavour of sailing. This is a tremendous opportunity for the community to take a journey around the world without even leaving Bermuda.”
The hotel’s art collection, personally chosen by owners the Green family, includes work by Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Banksy and Nelson Mandela.
