Hospitality Month 2017 is under way, with the first winner of the Experience Bermuda Scavenger Hunt announced at City Hall.

The Bermuda Hospitality Institute is hosting the island-wide scavenger hunt, encouraging people to revisit various sights and landmarks and remember all the great gems Bermuda has to offer.

The first weekly winner is Sarah Robinson, who took home a $100 voucher to Lindo’s, with further awards from places including Cambridge Beaches and Fun Golf up for grabs in future weeks, as well as a grand prize draw.

Malika Cartwright, executive director of Bermuda Hospitality Institute, said in a statement: “Our goal this month is to equip as many residents as possible with a fresh passion for, and greater knowledge about, Bermuda.

“This is our time to show the world why our small 21-square mile island is known for having some of the best warmth and hospitality on the planet. That’s why we’re using Hospitality Month 2017 to get people ready and excited for what’s next.”

Clues for the scavenger hunt can be downloaded each week using the BVO app or picked up from the Hamilton Visitor’s Information Centre.

Mrs Cartwright congratulated Ms Robinson, saying: “We’re very excited people are taking the time to participate in this fun endeavour.

“There’s still time for more to get involved — just download the app, pick up the clues and have fun hunting around after work, on your lunch break or weekends.”

Also as part of Hospitality Month, Rosa’s will be concocting a speciality drink throughout April, with all proceeds from that, and any blooming onions ordered, going towards BHI’s various education and training programmes.
