St George’s ferry service resumes

Orange route ferry services to and from St George’s are being resumed today.
However, passengers are being let on and off at Ordnance Island until further notice “because the new ferry dock at Hunter’s Wharf, while nearing completion, is not yet ready”.
A spokesman for the Department of Marine and Ports Services added that the service is therefore currently “not accessible to persons with disability”.
Work began on the new dock for the Bermuda Ferry Service last year in advance of more cruise ships, which will be using the renovated Penno’s Wharf, visiting the town this summer.
“The Corporation of St George’s is managing the project and we are anticipating an update soon on its completion,” the spokesman added.
