Crash victim airlifted overseas
A 32-year-old man involved in a crash in Sandys has been airlifted overseas to receive further treatment.
The man, said to be a guest worker, was riding rental cycle when he struck a wall on Somerset Road near the junction with Cambridge Road around 7.40pm on Monday.
He was initially treated in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before taken to the US.
Police confirmed he was 32 years old, not 26 as had been previously announced.
Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.
Meanwhile, at last check earlier this morning, the eight-year-old boy injured in a motocross cycle crash on West Pembroke Primary School field around 2.25pm Sunday, June 4, had been transferred from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to a general ward in stable condition.
