Police advice for holiday weekend
The Bermuda Police Service seeks the public’s co-operation during this year’s Bermuda Heroes Weekend holiday.
Those planning to attend the festivities should be aware of the following:
• Today, the Five Star Friday concert will take place at 7pm at National Sports Stadium. Parking will only be available at CedarBridge Academy.
• Residents of the Shelly Bay area should note that tomorrow’s Raft Up has been granted a noise permit from noon until 6pm. BHW organisers ask that no glass containers be brought into the area, and will be screening attendees prior to entry.
• Super Hero J’Ouvert will begin at 3am and end at 8am on Monday. The concert will be held at Bernard Park with parking at Bull’s Head car park. Dutton Avenue will be closed for the event, but motorists can travel via Parsons Road.
• Later on Monday, from 2pm to 10pm, the BHW Parade of Bands will begin at Number 2 Gate in St David’s. The parade will travel along Southside Road, turn right onto Cooper’s Island Road, and end at Clearwater Beach. A large number of participants and spectators are expected, so motorists travelling or living in the East End should expect delays on Monday afternoon.
Traffic diversions will be in place as a result of road closures and access to Cooper’s Island Road will be via payment.
The Bermuda Police Service takes this opportunity to wish everyone a safe holiday weekend to enjoy themselves responsibly.
