Three new officials will be in place for Kiwanis Clubs when the new administrative year begins in October.

Twenty division lieutenant governors have undergone a full weekend of intensive training for their roles in the New England & Bermuda District, according to a statement.

Marie Kent-Smith, member of the St George’s Kiwanis Club, is the incoming lieutenant governor of the Kiwanis Clubs in Bermuda.

Dan Bennett is the incoming district governor and James “Jim” Rochford is the incoming international president, in effect the “world president of Kiwanis” who will preside and take over at the Kiwanis International Convention slated for Paris in July.

The new lieutenant governor will be installed at a formal function in Hyannis, Massachusetts, in late August.

The press release states the main thrust of Kiwanis is “serving the children of the world”; Kiwanis is a global organisation devoted to changing the world, one child, one community at a time.
