LIV event raises $3,000 for charity
Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bermuda has received a $3,000 donation thanks to an event hosted by the group LIV.
Held last weekend, the entertainment consisted of various “party experiences featuring four distinctly different events over three days,” explained a press release.
Organised and owned by Deshae DeShields, in partnership with Leyde St. Leger, LIV is a locally produced event which has attracted over 100 international visitors to the island annually.
As a former Big Sister, Ms DeShields dedicated part proceeds from this year’s event to support BBBS.
“We worked exceptionally hard to raise funds this year as we understand the significant role the BBBS charity plays in our community,” said Ms DeShields. “In addition to our small contribution to such a powerful organisation, we encourage everyone to become a big brother or sister or explore ways to support its local presence.
“BBBS is truly a life-changing experience and helps make a positive impact on a child’s life. A special thank you must be extended to the generous sponsors of LIV 2017 for their contributions and support which undoubtedly helped to make this $3,000 donation possible: Burrows Lightbourn, Corporation of Hamilton, Spanish Town Ltd, One Communication, Spring Gardens, King Jyrus Sound, The Phoenix Stores and Royal Bermuda Regiment.”
