A medical situation forced a flight to divert to Bermuda yesterday.

The JetBlue flight from Santo Domingo to New York was forced to land as a result of a 55-year-old man requiring medical attention at around 2.45am.

The man was transported to hospital for treatment upon arrival.

Details on the nature of the medical emergency were not immediately provided by police.

“At last check the male was being treated in the emergency room, however, he will eventually be admitted to a surgical ward for further treatment,” police said in a release this morning.

The plane was scheduled to depart at around 8.30am.
