An 80-year-old cruise ship passenger was found floating in the sea off Dockyard this morning.

The visitor is believed to have been snorkelling with a tour group before he was found in an unresponsive state at 11am.

He was retrieved from the water, given CPR and rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.

A police spokesman said that there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
