‘Pink Out Loud’ for cancer charity
Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is inviting people to “Pink Out Loud” for the annual BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Barr’s Bay Park on Wednesday, October 18.
Participants will walk and talk through Hamilton to raise funds for Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Radiation Therapy Initiative and Equal Access Fund, which ensures everyone can get access to all services at the Centre.
Those involved include survivors, caregivers, supporters, families and friends, or people taking part “just because”.
Organisers say the event helps spread awareness of the importance of early detection, signs and symptoms and personal journeys. This year is particularly about sharing and learning more about the disease that affects one in eight women in Bermuda.
At 4pm, a breast cancer awareness health fair will begin at Barr’s Bay Park with vendors who promote healthy living in Bermuda.
The walk begins at 6pm, following an uplifting warm-up by Bodhi Army starting at 5.45pm.
To register, visit www.racedayworld.com or call at BF&M, Sportseller or Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
The School Spirit Challenge awards $2,000 and $1,000 to the top two Middle/Senior schools that raise the most pledges by October 18. For more information, visit http://www.cancer.bm/get-involved/sign-up-for-events/school-spirit-award-2017.
