David Burt, the Premier, and economic development and tourism minister Jamahl Simmons attended the US Congressional Black Caucus Foundation annual legislative conference at the weekend.

The two day CBCF meeting in the US capital is a major policy conference for African Americans and black people worldwide.

It was designed for legislators, concerned citizens and others to discuss economic development, civil and social justice, public health and education.

More than 9,000 people attended 70 public policy forums.

The Premier went to the CBCF prayer breakfast and the Phoenix Awards dinner at the Walter E Washington Convention Center as the guest of US Congressman G K Butterfield.
