A group of students, parents and teachers from Harrington Sound Primary School raised more than $800 to help those affected by recent hurricanes.

Cindy Weeks, acting principal at the school, said that the students were eager to give knowing that it would help those left without food, water or clothing.

She added that the school believes in teaching even its youngest students the joy of being philanthropic.

Last week, a group of four students formally presented a cheque to the Bermuda Credit Union Co-Op Society to go towards the hurricane relief effort in the Caribbean.
