Mystery over Simons at Cornerstone
Preserve Marriage deputy chairman Gary Simons’s future at the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship is in doubt after an emergency meeting last night.
More than 100 members attended the meeting at the church’s headquarters on Church Street last night, when it is understood the senior pastor’s position was called into question.
Reporters were turned away from the venue and no one at Cornerstone has been available for comment since yesterday afternoon.
However Mr Simons’s professional profile has been removed from the Fellowship’s website at some point over the past 24 hours.
Mr Simons, a pastor of the church for 17 years, has been a high-profile figure for Preserve Marriage, the group campaigning against same-sex marriage in Bermuda.
