Bermudian war veterans were recognised for their service at an event held earlier this month.

The veterans were treated to a special dinner and provided with certificates of appreciation at the event put on by the Kiwanis Club of St George’s.

During the event, the veterans shared stories with those in attendance, including members of the K-Kids Club at St George’s Preparatory School.

A spokesman for the club said the event was designed to give younger island residents a first-hand picture of the events that took place nearly 80 years ago.
