Press Release: airport car park to close
The long-term car park at LF Wade International Airport will temporarily close today for repainting of parking lines.
The car park will be completely closed to the public for all vehicles from February 14 until February 23 for the refurbishment of the line markings. However, travellers can park in the overflow parking area, which is located to the east of the long term lot, behind the taxi stand.
Painting is expected to begin on February 21. Closing the lot a few days before painting is scheduled will allow time for vehicles to vacate the area.
Mikaela Pearman, marketing and communications officer at Skyport, says: “The line painting is part of the ongoing cosmetic upgrades to the airport while the new terminal is being built. We apologise for this inconvenience and aim to complete the work as quickly as possible. We appreciate the public’s continued patience and co-operation.”
Skyport will install appropriate signage and barricades to prevent the public from parking in the area. The work is expected to be completed by February 23, weather permitting.
