A trio of Bermuda College students will compete for a chef job at Hamilton Princess and Beach Club next weekend.

Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson is to host the event, which will see Aaron Albouy, Serena Simmons and Anthony Sousa prepare two courses each.

The champion will land the coveted chef role and also cook with Mr Samuelsson at a dinner to celebrate the winner.

Mr Samuelsson said: “I am excited to see what they produce and look forward to working with the winning chef.

“I am thrilled to be back in Bermuda and working with local chefs.”

The competition on March 3 is part of a weekend of activities at the hotel featuring Mr Samuelsson, including a book signing dinner and a competition winner’s dinner.

Tim Morrison, general manager at the resort, said: “We are delighted to have Marcus with us again and to be hosting such exciting events over the weekend.

“Hamilton Princess and Beach Club is committed to providing opportunities for local talent and we look forward to a fun competition.”

The three culinary students have been picked by their teachers at the Bermuda College.

Thier dishes will be judged by Mr Samuelsson, Mr Morrison and Danai Hongwanishkul, Chef de Cuisine at Marcus’.

The competition will be streamed live @MarcusBermuda on Facebook and Instagram, with Mr Samuelsson to provide the commentary.

He will also respond to select questions and comments from viewers.

A special menu will be offered at the competition winner’s dinner, which starts at 7pm and will also feature musical entertainment by DJ Keem.

The book signing dinner will be held from 6pm on March 2, with diners treated to dinner specials and the chance to buy Mr Samuelsson’s newest book The Story of Food and Hustle in Harlem.
