Motorcyclist arrested after crash
A 25-year-old man injured last night after his motorcycle collided with a van has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, according to police.
The driver, believed to be from Southampton, was treated in hospital and discharged after the crash at about 7.30pm on Camp Road, Warwick.
In addition, at about 4.20pm yesterday, a 75-year-old man was struck by a 22-year-old male motorcyclist while crossing Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s, near the junction with Harrington Hundreds Road.
The pedestrian, believed to be a Smith’s resident, was cared for at the scene by EMTs before being taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was said this morning to be recovering in stable condition.
The motorcyclist involved was also hurt, but his injuries did not require hospital treatment. The motorcycle was damaged.
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old male motorcyclist injured after colliding with two cars on North Shore Road, Devonshire, on Tuesday, has been discharged from hospital, after initially receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
