A bus shelter by Shelly Bay park was heavily damaged on Saturday after being struck by a car.
According to police, the crash occurred at about 1.25pm near the junction with Doctors Lane, when a car in the eastbound lane of North Shore Road came off the road.
The driver, an 84-year-old Hamilton Parish woman, was apparently uninjured, but taken to the hospital as a precaution. She was later discharged.
The car and the bus shelter took heavy damage, however, and the public are advised not to use the shelter until it has been repaired.
Works and Engineering staff attended, installing temporary supports.
Any witnesses to the crash that have not yet spoken to police are asked to ring the main police number at 295-0011.
