David Burt and Zane DeSilva volunteered at the Grateful Bread feeding programme on Thursday.
The Premier and the Progressive Labour Party backbencher helped out at the monthly event at Astwood Hall, St Andrew’s Church, Hamilton.
Meals for the needy are served on the last Thursday of every month in the programme organised by Juliana Snelling, Diane Steede and Suzi Outerbridge.
Mr Burt said: “Meal programmes like the Grateful Bread are important to our community. Volunteers come together to help those who need extra support.
“My family and I were happy to volunteer. We had a chance to talk with those involved and lend a helping hand.”
