Two teenagers have been arrested after three scooters were stolen from the Transport Control Department.

A police spokesman said today: “A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested in connection with this matter and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.”

The 50cc scooters, used for training programme Project Ride, were stored in a shipping container at the department’s North Street headquarters.

The scooters were stolen sometime between 6.30pm on Thursday and 9am on Saturday.

Two of the bikes have since been recovered, but a third, a maroon Suzuki Address with the registration number 566 AQ, still missing.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on the theft or who knows the location of the missing scooter to contact them.
