Politicians presented reggae artist Beres Hammond with Bermuda-themed gifts in recognition of his four decades performing on the island.

Mr Hammond, the headline act at the Cup Match Summer Splash, One Love One Life Concert last Saturday, has been starring in Bermuda since 1975.

David Burt, the Premier, joined the Grammy-nominated Jamaican on the stage to thank him for his musical contributions.

Social development minister Michael Weeks presented Mr Hammond with a handmade Gombey doll, produced by Janice Warner-Tucker.

Tourism minister Jamahl Simmons gave him a cedar tray with an engraved map of Bermuda, made by Anthony Flood, an inmate at the Department of Corrections.
