A medical emergency on cruise ship Celebrity Summit resulted in a 13-year-old boy being brought ashore for treatment early yesterday.
The passenger is believed to have suffered a brain embolism, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said.
The centre was contacted on Tuesday afternoon by the ship’s captain.
The vessel, which was 150 miles northwest of Bermuda, arrived in the early hours of yesterday and the patient was brought ashore in St David’s at 1.25am.
He was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Summit later moored at King’s Wharf in Dockyard.
