Driver urged to contact police over crash

The driver and passengers of a vehicle that is believed to have been at the scene of a fatal road accident in the minutes after it happened were urged today to contact police.

Jen-Naya Simmons was killed when she lost control of her motorcycle in an early hours crash last month.

The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time after the single vehicle incident, which happened east of the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish.

Police want to speak to the driver and occupants of a silver Suzuki APV vanette, which is thought to have come upon the scene of the accident very soon after it happened at about 3.30am on July 15.

It is thought there were at least four people in the vehicle.

Ms Simmons was the seventh person to die on Bermuda’s roads this year. The total has since reached eight.

Anyone linked to the silver vanette was asked to contact Sergeant Dorian Astwood on 717-0849 or via his e-mail dastwood3@bps.bm.
