CedarBridge student seriously injured
A high school pupil was seriously injured in an accident earlier this month, the Department of Education has announced.
The pupil was taken to hospital for treatment and an investigation has been launched into what happened.
The incident happened at CedarBridge Academy in Devonshire on December 6.
A school representative said that the pupil had returned to school.
A support team is assisting the child, who has not been identified, and the parents.
The Department of Health has launched and inquiry and the school’s own safety and health team is also carrying out an investigation.
Kalmar Richards, the Commissioner of Education, said: “We at the Department of Education were relieved to find out that the student is well enough to return to school and we extend best wishes to the student and parents.
“The department and the CedarBridge board of governors will continue to facilitate and support all external and internal investigations.”
